Justin this article was so needed right now. Thanks for taking the time to break things down into understandable chunks that make sense. It's almost critical right now to make it simple common sense!

Trump is trying to bring back industry which former presidents let leave our country. Car Parts to Mexico, cars to Canada. No American cars in Europe but their cars here. Junk clothing from China and food such as Green Giant. And our food is sent to China to process because we have no processing plants. That will change. Trump wants our citizens to have houses if they want them. When car making left Detroit the town became a ghost town, empty houses, empty factories. NAFTA did that. Remember the poisoned dog food from China. Tilapia fish come from China; fed chicken droppings. So, our country has been treated unfairly by enemies and so called friends. Tariffs will level the playing fields. We have more oil than the Middle East but Biden refused to let companies drill for it. He voted for the European pipeline but against ours. We have plenty of natural gas also. Trump has taken restrictions off companies to let wells be drilled. That employes workers from the U. S. What he is doing is to help the middle class and those on welfare to get jobs. I don’t know why you resent wealth because it is used to generate jobs, companies to employ workers and make enough to own their homes. In America anyone can become wealthy if he is determined and has an idea to build upon. In socialism the bureaucrats think they know better than you on how to spend your money. So they take most of it. Walt Disney started off with a dream. He worked hard to achieve it. Elon Musk came here with only pocket change but he had ideas. He failed many times but kept trying. Success is often built upon failure more than once. There are many many small businesses that started with a dream because they saw a market; fishing rods, violins, fishing lures, popcorn businesses, comb businesses, tile businesses. I could go on and on. The U. S. has a backbone of small businesses, not just big ones. You think about it. Cabinet makers, furniture makers, ice cream makers: thousands of them. None of them are multi millionaires.

Tariffs are taxes, and an unnecessary intrusion of big government in the marketplace.

Trade wars are just fucking stupid.

So sad the GOP has reduced itself to this level of ignorance.

Mike did you read the article you're commenting on? On whose behalf is Trump working? Look at his followers and look at his enemies. Where do most Americans fall on appreciating what's happening in Washington, and more importantly what's happening world-wide? The old 3D world of power manipulation as we have known it is dead. Welcome to the new world of 5D perception, where love and light rules our future!

Cute. You called me an imbecile. Are you really that weak that you have to resort to name calling? That’s elementary school level, as is your understanding of tariffs.

Don't be stupid. Democrats were for Tariffs forever

You are an imbecile.

Free Trade is only good if we have free trade. We don't you Fucking moron.

Jobs from low wage countries aren't coming back. But reduced foreign tariffs and regulations can boost US exports.

Everybody understand Tarrifs are a negotiating technique.

The problem is Trump is doing it the wrong way not that he is doing it

See my long reply to the OP to learn more

Trump is too dumb to even know how tariffs work.

Wow. So instead of blaming the top 1%, we will blame the actual "middle class" now, and ruin them while we are at it, so they can join the rest of US in poverty? Then there truely will be noone to oppose the billionaires.....

To backup my claim, here is a survey that is showing that only 6% of Americans are earning a "comfortable living wage", i.e. feeling financially secure as of 2024. Their proportion has shrunk so much due to trickle down policies you have been supporting!!! This is the true, INDEPENDENT middle class, or all that we have left of it!!!

And ironically...Klaus Schwab just stepped down. So many good moving parts right now. It's hard to keep up! I just hope the "crash" Doesn't last more than a month or two....because we are older and self employed and don't have time to make it up
