Earlier today, Kamala Harris held a press event at the campaign headquarters, allegedly with Joe Biden, to allay fears that he is still alive and well. After talking with him for a moment, she refers to Joe and says, “I know you’re still on the call.”

Was the whole thing staged? Was Harris talking to a recording?

Harris’ slip of the tongue is being interpreted by many as proof the call was pre-recorded. So, where is Joe Biden?

Commenters in the YouTube version of the call say it doesn’t sound like Biden, that he’s speaking too quickly and coherently, and that he doesn’t mumble his speech.

He also has a lisp in his speech that usually indicates a cleft pallet or dentures.

I’m inclined to agree. It could be AI.

This man claims to have run it through Grok, which determined it was AI. I can’t confirm that, though.

I asked Grok myself when I supplied the above YouTube link, and Grok said it was a real voice, not AI.

Regardless, it doesn’t sound like the Joe Biden we’ve seen over the past four years.
